Hi, I’m Starr!
My name is Starr and I, together with my husband, Tony, have been remodeling much loved homes and building new homes in and around Shelbyville, KY for almost 25 years!
Tony and I got started in the business because we were looking for a way for me to leave my 9-5 banking job so we could start a family, and Tony was looking for a new career that would cover my bank salary. We knew we wanted to work together because we just have that kind of relationship where we enjoy working together. We had just completed our first really comprehensive remodel/home addition project on our own home.
I had done all of the design work while Tony acted as the general contractor, and we both did a lot of DIY projects. It was a very fulfilling experience that we both enormously enjoyed, so we decided to put ourselves out there and Sanctuary Homes was born.
Since then we have done 100’s of home remodels, built 100’s of homes, and made a lot of great friends throughout the process. The one thing that has always bothered me is the people I can’t help. I see and hear so many stories about home remodels becoming a nightmare and I wanted to become a trusted resource for all homeowners who want to improve their home. The way it looks, it’s functionality, and it’s value.
